NCAA Drops EA Sports From Gaming Label

Serious Gaming

I looks like the NCAA’s contract is due to expire next year in June 2014 and they do not plan on renewing. Ever since the claims started a few years back, former players have been pursuing suits against EA for for allowing their likenesses to be used without payment.

The NCAA states that they are confident in their position relating to the use of their trademarks in video games. Though they believe that due to the nature of these cases as well as the expense of litigations, it would be in the NCAA’s best interests not to participate in any future video games with EA Sports.

It is sad to say but it looks like EA’s “NCAA Football 2014” will be the last edition to the iconic gaming series.
